Speech, story

On August 8th 1978 four close friends were traveling the old
dusty roads of Nebraska heading to Missouri for vacation.  While driving down the road the driver tom saw something that looked like an old piece of rope laying on the road.  He didn’t think much of it until they drove over it and all four tires popped.  The driver lost control of the car and went into the ditch.  When the wounded survivors regained consciousness to the sound of a screaming siren the front end of the car was totaled.  The driver popped the door open with a screech.  A sheriff ran up to the car and helped the all of the passengers out of the smoking wreckage and into his patrol car.  The sheriff got into the patrol car and called the wreck into the rural fire department. He reported no fatalities and started to drive toward the nearest town with a hospital.  On the way the sheriff asked the driver what caused him to crash.  Tom said he didn’t know but there was either a piece of rope or barbed wire in the road that he ran over before the crash.  When he said that the sheriff slowed the car to a stop.  As he was turning around to say something the windshield exploded with tiny shards of glass.  A bullet tore through the sheriff’s throat.  Blood squirted out of his mouth and he leaned over onto the steering wheel.  The car horn started blaring.  The four passengers waited a while before getting up and looking around.  When they decided it was safe Tom got out and pulled the sheriff out of the drivers seat and into the passengers seat.  Tom pulled the sheriff’s revolver out of its holster and put it in his waistband.  He got into the drivers seat and spun out on the gravel before speeding off down the road.  He kept driving until he saw a house off in the distance.  He turned into the driveway and sped up to the house.  The house looked empty from the outside.  there were old cars lined up in rows behind the house that they saw as they walked up to the house.  When they entered the house it didn’t look abandoned.  They decided to split up and look for a phone.  Tom decided to check the basement after he heard noises coming from the basement.  He slowly opened the door with a loud creak.  As he walked down the stairs the sound got louder and louder until he finally knew what it was.  It was an old phonograph playing an old record.  He walked over to the record player and took the pin off the record.  Immediately there was a grinding sound and then the scream of a chain saw behind him.  He turned around and there was a large man wearing a leather apron and a mask behind him.

The man stuck the chain saw blade through Tom’s chest and out his back.  Blood ran out of his mouth and he died.  The man pulled the chain saw out of Tom’s chest and dragged him over to the freezer.  As the man was throwing Tom’s body into the freezer he saw the revolver in Tom’s waistband.  He grabbed the revolver and went up stairs.  Sarah who was searching the kitchen was standing a few feet away from the basement door when the door swung open.  The six and a half foot man came out and aimed the revolver at her.  He pulled the hammer back and shot her in the head.  Blood splattered on the cupboards.  Sarah’s boyfriend came into the kitchen.  The man turned and shot him in the chest five times emptying the revolver’s cylinder.  He dropped the revolver by the bodies.  Then he picked up a cleaver off the counter and hunted down the last of the four victims.  He found her in the living room.  When she saw the man wearing a worn leather apron covered with blood she screamed as loud as she could and took off running through the house toward the front door.  She threw the door open and ran through the yard towards the road.  As she was running she heard a loud clamp and then felt a sharp pain in her ankle.  She spun around and saw the man slowly walking toward her with the cleaver gripped in his hand.  she pulled the bear trap apart and released her foot.  she limped as far as she could toward the road.  She fell and rolled down a hill into a ditch.  When she looked around she saw that the ditch was full of bodies wrapped in blood stained bed sheets.  She crawled out of the ditch and ran toward the road.  As she got closer to the road she saw an old pickup coming down the road.
She ran out into the road and started waving her arms and screaming for help.  The truck sped up and started coming right at her.  As she turned to run the truck ran her over.  She layed in the road barely alive when she saw the truck stop a few feet from her.
The drivers door of the truck swung open and a man stepped out.
It was the man from the house with his blood stained apron.  He walked over to her and stared at her.  When he saw she was still alive he grabbed her head and twisted her neck until he broke her neck.  He picked her body up and threw it into the truck.  The truck slowly turned into the driveway and drove up to his house.  When he got back he dragged the bodies into the basement and threw them into the freezer.  Then he cleaned up all the blood and walked into the living room.  He looked out the window and saw the patrol car sitting outside with the bullet hole in the windshield that he created with his rifle.
